It would be a good idea to upgrade your operating system to Windows 7. Vista devours resources and is slow and unstable. Also it offers cosmetic upgrades over previous Microsoft operating systems. Windows 7 is faster than Vista. It takes up lesser disk space. It runs efficiently on computers with slower processors. For people using laptops Windows 7 offers longer battery life. Windows 7 has superior password protection and data encryption of files.
Check whether your computer is compatible with Windows 7 by using Windows 7 upgrade advisor. Insert Windows 7 DVD drive. Select install. Instantly a screen will show up. Search for the setup.exe file in the DVD and run it. You will be given two choices ‘online compatibility check’ and ‘install now’. But you have already checked for compatibility. Select ‘install now’. Next you will be asked to select ”latest updates for installation’. If you have the latest updates don’t bother about this step. Go to the next step.

The license agreement will be displayed. You have the option of accepting or declining it. Select ‘accept’. The next step has two choices – ‘custom’ and ‘upgrade’. As we are upgrading from Windows Vista select ‘upgrade’. Users who are installing an operating system for the first time should select ‘custom’.

Yes you can upgrade from a Windows XP Home to Windows XP Professional.
If you don’t know how to install/upgrade a operating system, then look for help, and remember to do:
• backup all of your data before you upgrade.
• have your Windows XP CD at hand
• have your Product key/serial number available

TIP: If you buy any Student edition license from Microsoft, it means that you can UPDATE the software with the latest security patches but an UPGRADE is not applicable.
The above means, that when the next version of product hits the market you wont be able to buy an UPGRADE ($$) you will have to buy a new full version ($$$$).

Android has alot of extra features like MicroSD for additional space, Widescreen format(Motorola Xoom), Very customizeable(Ipads are customizable but in my opinion no where near as customizeable as Andriod), and micro hdmi out for hd tvs. I would suggest going to best buy and playing with a Motorola Xoom tablet or Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet and see how you like android. After that walk over to the Apple section and play with an Ipad 2. See which one you enjoy more…
